HDMI. What is it? I don’t really know. What do I know? I know I need HDMI cables to connect all my stuff to my TV. And I know they aren’t cheap. I also know my TV, DirecTV receiver, Wii and Blu Ray player also didn’t come with them. Did I mention they aren’t cheap? So I need 3 of these cables. Been to Best Buy lately? That’s like $70. For 3 freakin cables. Oh, but my TV only has 2 HDMI ports. So I had to buy an HDMI port extender, so now I need ANOTHER HDMI cable. Remember the days when you bought stuff and it came with the cables you needed?
Yeah, me neither.
So what’re ya gonna do? Well, if you’re the hubby, head to Best Buy and get the cheapest cables that exist.
Yeah, let me tell you how that went. The thing about buying cheap HDMI cables is that they suck, like majorly. The old adage that you get what you pay for is very true with HDMI cables. Hubby got the four we needed. Hooked everything up. and Bam. The brand new TV that was my Christmas present had the crappiest picture I have ever seen. All the beautiful HD clarity and picture quality. NOT!!! Flickering screen. Lines. Terrible Color. Yeah, that lasted about a minute. First thing we did was cannibalize the small bedroom TV for a cord so we could at least watch TV.
